Question 1

What is Direct Haul Logix?

Accepted Answer

A peer-to-peer freight platform that connects shippers directly with verified haulers. Every quote is fixed and itemized before posting, every load is tracked through 7 milestones, and payment is held in escrow until the shipper confirms delivery.

Question 2

I finished my profile — why can't I use the platform yet?

Accepted Answer

Direct Haul Logix is in a controlled launch. Completed profiles are reviewed by our team and accounts are opened in waves. Keep your documents current so you're ready the moment access opens.

Question 3

Why are some of my fields locked with a 🔒?

Accepted Answer

When we read a document with 80% or higher confidence, the USDOT number, MC number, or expiration date is filled in and locked so it can't be changed by accident or tampered with. To correct a locked value, upload a clearer, current copy of the document. If it's still wrong, contact support for a manual review.

Question 4

What if a number or date was read incorrectly?

Accepted Answer

Re-upload a sharp, well-lit, flat photo or the original PDF — glare, shadows, and cropped edges cause most misreads. If the value is still wrong after a clean upload, contact support and an admin will review it by hand.

Question 5

Who can see my name, phone and address?

Accepted Answer

Nobody until the load is Awarded and Funded. Before that, other members only see City, State. Paperwork always prints platform labels instead of real names and phone numbers, and after delivery addresses go back to City, State ZIP only.

Question 6

Why was part of my message hidden?

Accepted Answer

Messages that share phone numbers, emails, or ask to move off the platform are hidden from the other person. Escrow protection only covers deals kept on Direct Haul Logix.

Question 7

What do the red fields and 'Needs Attention' banners mean?

Accepted Answer

They mark required information that's still missing. Fill in every red field on the General and Alerts tabs and your To Do list will clear.

Question 8

How is my price calculated?

Accepted Answer

Your quote is itemized and fixed — there's no bidding or haggling. It includes the hauler's pay (based on miles and cargo type), a fuel charge based on the correct fuel for that equipment (diesel or gasoline, never blended), any extras you pick, and the DirectHaulLogix Managed Brokerage & Platform Fee: 10% of carrier pay + $15 flat booking fee. Traditional brokers keep 20–35% in hidden markups.

Question 9

What's the difference between Shared and Dedicated?

Accepted Answer

Shared puts your cargo on a truck that also carries other loads, so you only pay for your space — much cheaper on long trips. Shared fits up to 2 vehicles, 6 pallets, 15,000 lbs and 30 ft of deck. Dedicated reserves the whole truck for you, with a $450 minimum for the hauler's pay. Heavy equipment, RVs, containers, and most boats require Dedicated.

Question 10

Why is there a rush fee?

Accepted Answer

Pickups within 48 hours add 30% to the hauler's pay because haulers have to reshuffle their schedule. Booking further ahead avoids it.

Question 11

Is there a charge for heavy loads?

Accepted Answer

Loads over 10,000 lbs add a per-mile weight charge to cover extra fuel and wear.

Question 12

Why does paying by card cost more than bank transfer?

Accepted Answer

Card processing costs 2.9% + $0.30; bank transfer (ACH) is 0.8% capped at $5. The hauler gets exactly the same pay either way.

Question 13

How is my money protected?

Accepted Answer

When you award a load, your payment is held in escrow. The hauler isn't paid until you review the final e-BOL and delivery photos and release the funds at Milestone 7.

Question 14

How do I release payment?

Accepted Answer

After the hauler marks the load Delivered, open Actions → 'Review Final e-BOL, Photos, and Release Funds'. Check the paperwork and photos, then release.

Question 15

Can I compare more than one hauler?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every hauler who accepts your load is queued so you can compare ratings, equipment and history before you award one.

Question 16

Can I cancel or relist a load?

Accepted Answer

Loads that are Posted or Accepted can be cancelled or relisted. Once a load is awarded and funded, cancellation goes through escrow review.

Question 17

Why do I have to upload photos of my cargo?

Accepted Answer

2–5 clear photos from the listed angles help haulers pick the right equipment and protect you if there's a damage question later.

Question 18

Why can't a hauler accept my load?

Accepted Answer

Loads whose pickup or delivery date has already passed can't be accepted. Relist with new dates.

Question 19

What documents do I need?

Accepted Answer

A CDL (Class A/B) where required, a Certificate of Insurance with active cargo coverage, a current vehicle registration, and an Annual USDOT Inspection for each truck. You also need Preferred Origin States, Preferred Destination States and a Maximum Weight Cap on your profile.

Question 20

Why was my document rejected?

Accepted Answer

The most common reasons: it's expired (expiring today counts as expired), it's blurry or cropped, the VIN or plate doesn't match your truck, or the name doesn't match your profile. Inspections are also rejected if they're older than 365 days, have fewer than 5 items marked OK, or have anything marked Needs Repair. After several failed tries uploads pause — contact support for a manual review.

Question 21

How much will I get paid?

Accepted Answer

The net payout shown when you accept is exactly what you receive. It never changes based on how the shipper pays.

Question 22

When do I get paid?

Accepted Answer

Funds release from escrow as soon as the shipper completes Milestone 7. Connect your payout account under Profile so funds can be sent.

Question 23

How often do I check in during a haul?

Accepted Answer

Every 3 hours while in transit. Miss one and you'll get an overdue alert, and the shipper and our team are notified.

Question 24

How do pickup and delivery work?

Accepted Answer

Both happen through the signed e-BOL. Signatures can't be changed once saved. Delivery needs 2 photos, whether someone is there to sign or not.

Question 25

How do badges work?

Accepted Answer

Badges count only fully completed hauls — loads where the shipper released payment — not just delivered ones.

Question 26

Do I have to rate the shipper?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Both sides rate each other after every completed load. It keeps the network honest.
